Riboflavin nutritional status has been assessed through measurements of erythrocyte glutathione reductase activity coefficient, erythrocyte riboflavin concentrations, and urinary riboflavin excretion. Erythrocyte glutathione reductase is a flavoprotein which is sensitive to the riboflavin status of the subject.   The assessment of biochemical parameters is part of a series of investigations used in the assessment of nutritional status. The type and frequency of tests will be based on the nature and severity of disease, the type of nutrition support being provided, results of previous tests and the setting where care is being provided and agreed local.
